"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God." Philippians 4:6

What is the Intercessory Prayer Ministry?
The intercessory Prayer Ministry of FBC began more than 25 years ago when D.L. Lowrie and David Abbot brought together men and women who believed that God wanted his people to intercede in prayer on behalf of others.

Prayer requests are made by individuals on behalf of themselves, their loved ones or their friends. These requests for prayer may be called in directly to the Prayer Chapel on 744-PRAY (744-7729); or turned in to the church office or any member of the church staff. Requests may also be sent through our website. Click here to send a prayer request.

Individuals, couples and friends go to the prayer chapel at their assigned time slot. The prayer chapel is at the Northeast corner of the education building. These prayer warriors lift up the prayer requests which have been submitted as well as praying for those in our hospitals, our church, our city, our country and many other needs. Prayergrams and notes of encouragement are sent in response to prayer requests as well.

Our website also has an on-line prayer chapel as well. Prayer partners may enter and lift up prayer requests at any time of the day or night. If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact Randy Holman to find out how.

We Believe in the Power of Prayer
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or more come together in my name, there I am with them." - Matthew 18:19-20

Prayer is more than words, it is our attitude and the reflection of our relationship with a loving and caring God.

Who Participates in the Prayer Ministry?
Intercessory prayer warriors are men and women who believe in the power of prayer, and believe that God calls us to stand in the gap for others. Many have gone through times of difficulty and have experienced the need for prayer and the way a faithful and loving God answers prayer.

Prayer warriors care deeply for others, and know that many times in crisis situations we are unable to reach out to those in need except through our prayers.

Prayer warriors have a heart for the lost and pray for our church, it's ministries, and for world-wide missions that are working to spread the gospel to those who have not heard and to bring hope to seemingly hopeless situations.

Prayer warriors are concerned about our city, our country, and our world. They believe that God wants his people to come to Him on behalf of our leaders, not just to pray for them, but through prayer, to be drawn closer together as a body of believers.

Testimonies

"After having been a participant in the prayer chapel for many years, I count it a privilege to pray for the needs of our church family, as well as the needs of strangers. The greatest blessing comes as we experience the faith Christians have in God, as they submit their prayer requests to our prayer ministry, and trust us to pray for them." - Jeane Law

"Being a part of the Intercessory Prayer ministry for the past 21 years has been very important to me from a spiritual standpoint. But, equally or much more important has been the encouragement, the blessings and changes in the lives of the many recipients because of the prayers on their behalf coming from those committed to be involved in our Intercessory Prayer Ministry." - Jim Tapp

"We have been involved with the intercessory prayer ministry for the very beginning - 25 years ago. We feel God gives us this opportunity to care for others when we prayer for them, and over the years we have seen the miracle of God's love and answered paryer many times. Recently, we have been faced with health issues and experienced the anxiousness that goes along with medical problems. Knowing that many others were lifting us up before God every day brings a comfort and pease that makes it much easier to go through difficult times." - Daulton and Pauline Blevins

"Praying for others is a real joy. Being prayed for is another level of joy. There is nothing more precious than knowing that God is holding you because of the prayers of other believers." - Suzie Montoya
