WHY TALK ABOUT MONEY?

It Matters to God

  • God wants me to experience FULFILLMENT
"You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing." - Psalm 145:16 (NIV)
  • God wants me to experience FAITHFULNESS
"Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" - Matthew 25:21 (NIV)
  • God wants me to experience FREEDOM
"My brothers and sisters, God called you to be free, but do not use your freedom as an excuse to do what pleases your sinful self. Serve each other with love." - Galatians 5:13 (NIV)

It is a Matter of the Heart

  • My heart can only be one place
"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:21 (NIV)
  • My heart is where my actions begin
"For the love of money is at the root of all kinds of evil." - 1 Timothy 6:10 (NIV)
  • My heart can only have one loyalty
"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." - Matthew 6:24 (NIV)

It is a Matter of Eternal Significance

  • "Store your treasures in heaven, where they will never become moth-eaten and where they will be safe from thieves." - Matthew 6:20 (NIV)

It is a Matter of Practical Necessity
